Painting With Light Photography

This picture is from the internet. I wanna say that the photographer achieved this with a slow shutter speed and it could have taken them a lot of try’s to do it. This photo is very eye catching because of the wings and the light below the models chin. Not only that but the background isn’t fully black so it gives it that little hint of light on the floor. Over all this image inspired me to do the devil type photo as well because I thought it was pretty cool.

Cultural Photography

This article is about cultural photography to which is a way to express your culture through images. Not only that but with the expression of culture in your photos will make it easier for you to explain your own culture. Not only that but the article also talks about his experience with over exposure. With the over exposure he said that, “as an outsider I would never really understand how buildings are made or what it means to mediate with the intensity… if I did not learn to do it myself. “

With cultural photography you can express your culture though images. Many ask us questions about our culture. Not to be rude but to learn more about who you are exactly. Sometimes it takes us a little to explain things because they do not have the same in the area you are at. Through taking pictures of your culture it can make it easier to explain things to people when you have a visual representation.

The point of this article was to give us readers a little more information of cultural photography. As well as teaching the readers more about the different ways you can express yourself within the photos that you take. We all have different photography styles that we like to use. Not all of the styles be best fit you and you may not have a certain named style.

Favorite Teacher

This is Mrs. Thomas but I know her as coach Thomas. She was one of my cheer coaches here at this school. Coach Thomas is a very out going and funny person. She makes you smile without even trying. It’s just who she is. She can be strict at times but most of the time she is laughing and making jokes. She is also pretty chill and cares for her students and athletes safety. She was my first ever favorite teacher at this school.

I look up to her because although she maybe stressed out she still manages to make others laugh along with her. She keeps her head up and does her best to keep her students in check. I remember on the last day of school before we went on winter break she let ma and my friend’s go into her classroom and watch a movie. We didn’t have much to do so she allowed us to sit back and relax as we watched the movie.

Overall this has been only one of the few favorite teachers that I have had at this school. I would recommend her to anyone. Because of how outgoing she is she really makes her class fun and interesting.

Flash Photo Compare

One side of the photo is using the flash which is the picture that is brighter. The side that is darker is the side that isn’t using the flash. On the side that is using flash it made the subject more brighter and standing out where as the other side the subject is darker. Also when looking at the background we can tell that one is darker than the other. This is because the image that is using the flash not only brightened the subject but it also brightened up the background.

Intro to using strobes

Strobe lights are normally use in the studio. there are certain types of strobes like the moonlights. They’re small so it limits the power that they have. Not only can these lights be used in a studio but they can also be used to shoot outdoors although you will need a lot of power to over come the sun or loss of light. But it’s better if you shoot in a studio because the moonlights will be more than enough for regular work. The lights also have a zoom reflector to which provides ability to attach a honey comb like grid for a more focused spread.

Light modifiers to which come in umbrellas or softboxes. The umbrellas produce a soft diffused light due to the size of its reflecting surface. They are mounted in a way where the strobe light it self is facing away from the subject. The light from the strobes hit the inside of the umbrella and bounces back towards the subject. There are different kinds of umbrella’s like the silver-lined, white and gold tint. The gold tint will give the subject a more warm lighting. The silver-lined will give the subject a more colder light and the white will give the subject a natural light tone. As for sfort boxes they are light weight and they have more spread of light that is contained that with an umbrella.

In conclusion the equipment can be expensive so make sure that what you’re using is right for you. It’s also a good idea to rent the equipment first before buying it just so that you can make sure that you are going to get the right type of equipment you will want or need. Using strobe lights isn’t always for everyone so it’s also best to rent out the equipment so you don’t waste your money on somethings you won’t really use that much.
